June 2008 summer has arrived 
The following students have started work placements this month:
Adnan Rajabdeen from Sri Lanka in Night Audit at the London Ritz, Cosmin Muresan from Bulgaria in Concierge at the London Ritz, Yuko Daishoji from Japan in Reception at the London Ritz, Marina Babakova from Ukraine in Reception at Claridges, Daniangela Montiero from Brazil in F&B at the Berkley, Hoemoon Jung from Korea in F&B at the Ritz, Zay Yar Oo from Myanmar in F&B at the Landmark Mariko Kawamura from Japan in Reception at the Cavendish, Joo Hyn Lee from Korea in Room Service at One Aldwych, Mercedes Cavenagh from Argentina in Reservations at the Thistle Euston Hotel, Yoo Jin Kim and Kwang Lim Ko from Korea in Reception at the Thistle Euston Hotel
Diary Date. On July 24th at 12pm Mr Luc Delafosse (Ex GM of Burj al Arab and the Ritz) will give a talk on how to be a success in a top five star hotel.
Visits This month the students all made independent research visits to a wide number of London hotels to research for their Sales and Marketing assignment. In addition we had a tour of the Carlton Club, one of London's famous private gentlemans clubs.
Congratulations to Paron Petdara who will be the first Thai management trainee at the Maybourne Group (Claridges Berkley and Connaught hotels) starting on Monday 30th June. Paron wrote:
Good Morning Mr. Hardingham and everyone in London Hotel School. How are you doing?
May I take this opportunity to announce and inform you about my resignation from The Berkeley Hotel and the new appointment at Claridge’s.
I have accepted a position as Room Division Graduate Management trainee at Claridge’s. This is a great opportunity for me to develop myself professionally and continue my service with Maybourne Hotel Group. Also, Claridge’s is applying and paying the fees for my work permit application and legal advice. However, I am still waiting for an approval of my work permit application from Home Office and then may have to travel back to Thailand for the new entry clearance.I would very much like to take this opportunity to thank you and show my sincere appreciation to all your help and support me with everything such as my HND study, work experience, visa, and career development. I enjoyed very much studying with you and all my time in LHS. I have learnt a great deal and gain vast experience and skills from everyone in London Hotel School.

Press Club Hanoi in Vietnam welcomes Fabio Campos to the Food & Beverage Team. Brazilian by nationality, he is a graduate in Hospitality Management from London Hotel School in UK.
Fabio work and lived previously in Scotland, Dubai and Cayman Island before coming to Hanoi. He brings with him prior work experience with the "Old Course Golf Resort and Spa", Grand Hyatt Dubai and a French fine dining restaurant " The Brasserie" . Congratulations to Suk Jae Shin too, he just started at Claridges Hotel as a managment accountant after working for Marriott Regents Park and Marriott Maida Vale since his work placment in 2002
Treasure Hunt/Barbecue
On Thursday 31st. July at 10 am students will set out to collect clues and photographs from all over London as evidence that they have answered the clues to several famous places in the city. They will have till 4pm to solve the problems and then return to LHS for a Barbecue. BIG prizes for the winning team!
